The Battle for the GOP Is On - Palin, Romney or Jindal
The
above article is a rather slanted put down of Gov. Sarah Palin's
appeal. The author seems to favor Mitt Romney and is bringing Bobby
Jindal into the picture.
Well, I think it very interesting that neither were invited to GA to help Saxby Chambliss.
Calling
Mitt Romney a fiscal conservative is stretching a point. And fails to
mention that Romney was an open borders enthusiast (despite Tancredo's
endorsement) and was a staunch supporter for Free Trade. Maybe Romney
would go to Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, etc, and try to sell Free Trade to
unemployed factory workers.
If
there is one thing, the Republican grass roots should have learned from
2008 is that RINO candidates cannot win. And Romney is the perfect RINO
candidate.
It
should be pointed out that Saxby Chambliss is in such big trouble in a
state he should have won easily because he called opponents to the
amnesty bill racists. Bay Buchanan and others actively supported the
primary candidate against Chambliss. Conservative voters, concerned
about immigration sat on their hands of Chambliss.
Nevertheless, with a veto-proof Senate at stake, supporting Chambliss is the only alternative.
Gov.
Sarah Palin can draw the numbers. If Chambliss wins this run-off, it
will be because of Gov. Sarah Palin, not any particular change of heart
on Saxby Chambliss by GA voters.
