If you’ve been of the opinion that the weather in Winnipeg has never been so bad — you’re right.

Environment Canada says that Winnipeg will set a local record today for nine consecutive months of below-seasonal temperatures.

"You’ve never had nine consecutive months of below-seasonal temperatures before," meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau said this morning.

Charbonneau said the mean average temperature for the month of August has been 17.27 C — more than a full degree cooler than the average of 18.5 C for this month.

Charbonneau said the previous record for consecutive months of below-seasonal weather had been set in 1995-1996 and before that in 1978-1979.

Call Al Gore, Call Al Gore... maybe the thermometers are wrong or this is caused by global warming.

Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That’s the lowest level of total approval yet measured for Obama. Fifty-three percent (53%) now disapprove. Eighty-one percent (81%) of Democrats approve while 83% of Republicans disapprove. As for those not affiliated with either major party, 66% disapprove. He is not listening to the Public, his socialist foundations are coming into view.

I'll definitely miss being out with British combat troops.  Great soldiers who can always count on the support of at least one writer.  The British Ministry of Defense, however, needs a tune up.

Am back with U.S. forces and did three missions on Sunday.  More on that as time unfolds. 

American and British forces are working closely together here.  The U.S./U.K. relationship in Helmand is extremely good.  (Presumably elsewhere, too, but I do not know.)  My first mission yesterday was with a U.S. Air Force helicopter rescue team to pick up a British casualty.  The British people at home should know that our helicopters will get their men and women off the battlefields and back to the hospital in less than an hour, no matter what.

Please see today's dispatch, wherein a British soldier who was watching out for me gets his antenna shot off.

Well Last night we did French Cuisine, I did the desert, Coconut pie, ice cream and some type of french desert with prunes in it. The main dishes were chicken stuffed with ham, French Onion Soup, Zucchini Squash, French Bread and a Carrot salad. Goodbye France, hello Mexico. (nest week)
